Register Your Love

"I recently received an invitation on Facebook for an event called "Register Your Love." Below is a copy/paste description of the event. If this pertains to you, I highly suggest you take part in this:

On Thursday February 12th, 2009 ShowMeNoHate.com will Join The Impact with "Freedom To Marry." http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=53622372580 This event urges same-sex couples living in St. Louis City and County to visit their local Marriage License counters to obtain a marriage license for same-sex couples. We are encouraging couples to bring their family, friends, and to even video tape the City and County denying marriage licenses to loving committed adults in our state.

On the very same day, we are promoting "REGISTER YOUR LOVE." The City of Saint Louis grants same-sex couples a Domestic Partnership License. Unfortunately, very few couples obtain these certificates and we feel that must change in 2009.

We know these certificates are not real Marriage Licenses, but at the same time we need to show the City of St. Louis (and Missouri) that we count and that these Domestic Partnerships need to become full fledged legal Marriage Licenses.

We only ask you to register your love by obtaining a Domestic Partnership License on Thursday February 12th, 2009.
